art academy

Originally consisting of myself and a small group of students from my Art Foundation course, the Islington Mill Art Academy was intended to provide an alternative to university based education and beyond this to look at a peer-led form of education which would provide us with the practical skills and knowledge to survive as artists. From sharing resources to organising talks, critiques and residencies, the Art Academy provides a framework for members to develop and direct their own artistic development. Whilst the nature of IMAA is fluid and subject to change, it is always crucial to share ideas, and to embrace each other's skills and knowledge.
